Sheridan, WY

We arrived here about 10 pm mountain time, 9 pm pacific. The day went pretty well... long hours in the car at close quarters! With rain until the early afternoon.

I have to say (some will appreciate this), an early highlight of the day was Jake's Steaks, a restaurant right next to a Texaco in Ritzville, WA. We stopped for gas, but the restaurant looked to me as having better coffee. And they had a sign advertising "home made doughnuts". Well...  (I could hear the doughnuts calling me!! Over the protests of a certain person who wishes I was skinnier!! Well, I bought three, one for each of us, to spread the guilt around. They were still a bit warm, too!! The rest of the day was rain, rain, and more rain until about mid afternoon. I did let Debbi drive, and have video proof which I will try to upload shortly.

I am sorry to report that we have seen no antelopes so far. We did see tons of tumbleweeds. The wind was really blowing all across Eastern Washington and Montana. We drove through little 'dust storms' where there were newly plowed fields.

Well, I guess we should sign off. We have another long day tomorrow. St Joseph, MO is our next stop.

I haven't heard anything more about my dad today. I'll let you know if there are any updates.

  1. I know from experience that when you eat fresh donuts on road trips at really high elevations they taste better is that true Kaliegh and Debbi, I know i don't have to ask Don. Do you know there was a sesquicentennial in Missouri this year and do you know whose it is? or what is means with out Google assistance. We miss you and are praying less rain and more 75mph's.
